Hansjörg Fink

Born in 1969 in Aalen, Hansjörg Fink enjoyed a well-founded music education from an early age introducing him to diverse music styles: his teachers included Paul Schreckenberger (classical trombone), Bobby Burgess (lead and jazz trombone) and Klaus Wagenleiter (harmony, arrangement and composition).
He joined the German army music corps in Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt as trombonist and was a member of the German Federal Jazz Orchestra under Peter Herbolzheimer.

He studied music in the Netherlands at the Amsterdam School of the Arts in Hilversum, where he studied jazz and popular music with Bart and Erik van Lier and classical trombone with Ben van Dijk.

Hansjörg Fink has been first trombone of the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra since 1996, touring regularly. In addition to that, he is a freelance member of renowned European big bands, including the WDR Big Band, the SWR Big Band, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Paul Kuhn Big Band, with whom he appears in concert and on CD, radio and television recordings. He has toured to over seventy countries and appeared in cities of all continents – from Paris, Monte Carlo and Moscow to New York, Cape Town, Bombay, Tokyo and Dubai.

Hansjörg Fink performs as lead player, ensemble player and soloist in the most diverse music styles and feels equally at home in big bands, theatre and musical productions, pop bands and the great jazz festivals as he does in symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles and solo projects.
Hansjörg Fink can be listened on more than 60 CDs (2013).

Since 2011 Hansjörg Fink has been teaching jazz trombone and ensembles at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar. As lecturer in big band and trombone he regularly gives jazz workshops.
