Inga Humpe


Biography

Inga Humpe is a German pop singer, composer and songwriter.

Since the founding of the project 2raumwohnung together with Tommi Eckart in the year 2000, she has become especially well known and successful with this formation. Following her studies at the Technische Hochschule Aachen (Technical University of Aachen) and the Freie Universität Berlin (Free University of Berlin), she appeared as singer and in various groups of the Neue deutsche Welle (German New Wave), including Neonbabies und DÖF (Deutsch-Österreichisches Feingefühl,or German-Austrian Sensitivity). Productions of recordings with her sister Annette Humpe were in the charts, both in Germany and in England. Inga Humpe received numerous gold awards and prizes for her albums including the German Dance Award (2003), the Dance Music Award (2005), the Goldene Stimmgabel (Golden Tuning- Fork, 2005), the radio award 1Live Krone for her life’s work (2005) and the BZ Culture Prize (Berliner Zeitung, 2010). Inga Humpe has been invited with 2raumwohnung to perform in New York, Japan, China (Expo), Spain, Russia, South Africa and Turkey; she has been on tours through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
