audite has recently completed the six-part series of the complete symphonic works of Schumann with the WDR Sinfonieorchester under the baton of Heinz Holliger. Now the 77-year-old Swiss conductor, composer and oboist was honored for his decades of confrontation with the Schumann works with the 10.000, - Euro doped Zwickau Schumann Prize.
Holliger is the first wind player, this price is awarded. Among the previous winners were celebrities like Daniel Barenboim, Elliot Gardiner, András Schiff and Mitsuko Shirai. The award ceremony will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 19.30 at the Robert-Schumann-Haus Zwickau.
