Series 9 of 10 productions Mahler cycle with Rafael Kubelik in live recordings

The audite Mahler cycle with Rafael Kubelik and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra contains live recordings of Gustav Mahler's Symphonies 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 as well as The Song of the Earth (with Janet Baker and Waldemar Kmentt).

Series 4 of 4 productions Géza Anda Edition

The four-part series, largely consisting of so far unreleased studio and concert recordings of the WDR Cologne from the years 1952 to 1970, closes a gap in the discography of the Hungarian Géza Anda, one of the most important pianists of the second half of the 20th century.
With piano compositions from three epochs - including works of Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Schumann, Chopin and Bartók - Anda presents a representative cross-section of his wide repertoire,  revealing himself not only as an exceptional pianist free of any form of romanticisation, but also as a conductor.

Series 3 of 3 productions String Quartets by Brahms and His Contemporaries (Gernsheim, von Herzogenberg and Dessoff) with the Mandelring Quartet

This edition compares and contrasts string quartets of Johannes Brahms and his contemporaries Friedrich Gernsheim, Heinrich von Herzogenberg and Felix Otto Dessoff on three CDs.
There were close contacts as well as looser ones between Brahms and the other composers, and musical references to Brahms in the works of his contemporaries cannot be denied. Nonetheless, their string quartets bear witness to an individual treatment of this demanding genre and Gernsheim, Herzogenberg and Dessoff confront the Brahms string quartets with independent compositions thoroughly equal in value. Herzogenberg's String Quartet in G minor, Op. 42/1 is presented by audite as a world premiere recording.

Series 2 of 2 productions Bach and his predecessors

This series impressively documents, on two SACDs, the influences of both North and South German composers on the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Whereas contrasting his compositions with works of Georg Böhm and Dieterich Buxtehude especially shows the influences of North German masters on Bach's early works, the second part of the series points out reminiscences of Bach's organ works in selected compositions of South German composers, including Johann Jakob Froberger, Johann Caspar Kerll, Georg Muffat and Johann Pachelbel. In addition, the historical performance practice of Magnificat prayers is realised here: works of Pachelbel and Bach are newly combined, including Magnificat verses sung according to the traditional sequence and combined to form a musical unity.

Series at present 10 productions The composers Eduard and Richard Franck

This series, consisting of 10 parts at present, is a rediscovery of the composers Eduard and Richard Franck. Both father Eduard, a pupil of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and close friend of Robert Schumann, and his son Richard were celebrated pianists and composers during their lifetimes. The influences of the famous teacher and friend are unmistakeably reflected in their works, but unlike the works of Mendelssohn Bartholdy, their compositions lost all public interest as history progressed and, with it, admittance to the canon of traditional music literature as well.
Thus this audite series - dedicated to the various groups of works, from different chamber combinations to orchestral works - contains exclusively world premiere recordings.

Series at present 8 productions Historical Recordings of Legendary Violinists

This audite series with studio productions and live recordings from the years 1948 to 1969 from the  archive of Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) and the German Radio Archive (DRA) provides an overview of the legendary violinists of this period, including Yehudi Menuhin and Erica Morini. In addition, the series includes recordings with Gioconda de Vito, Isaac Stern, Nathan Milstein, Bronislaw Gimpel and, not least, the highly virtuosic Michael Rabin.
One of the most recent releases of this series is a live recording of the Lucerne Festival, in which Wolfgang Schneiderhan shows the range of his repertoire, including the world premiere of the Magnificat by Frank Martin composed especially for him and his wife, soprano Irmgard Seefried.

Series at present 6 productions Historical Recorings of legendary Singers

A large number of outstanding singers made their mark in the musical life of post-war Germany, even though some of them were not able to emerge from the shadow of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
Whilst audite has issued an independent series of the extensive production of Fischer-Dieskau, this series of historical recordings of legendary singers completes a collection of various individual portraits. Radio recordings from 1949 until 1951 with the German tenor Peter Anders, who died at the age of just 46, concert recordings of the Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad, considered one of the most important Wagner interpreters and who can be heard here in 1952 at the age of 57,  the German-British soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf - accompanied for the last time in her lied interpretations by her long-time piano partner Michael Raucheisen - as well as the American baritone Barry McDaniel.
The first issue of lied recordings from 1963 to 1974 with Barry McDaniel consists entirely of studio productions. They offer impressive proof that the American baritone was unjustifiably overshadowed by his contemporary Fischer-Dieskau.
The latest productions of this series are besides the Lied recital from 1975 Lucerne Festival with Edith Mathis the 3 CD boxes attended to the Spanish soprano Pilar Lorengar. In studio and live recordings from 1959 to 1962 alongside standards, Lorengar pays homage here to the musical traditions of her homeland.

Series at present 8 productions Christmas Music

A compilation of Christmas vocal, choir and organ music, enriched by the complete recording of Bach's "Christmas Oratorio" made in 1950 under the direction of Karl Ristenpart and with numerous leading interpreters of that time.

Series at present 19 productions LUCERNE FESTIVAL Historic Performances

In cooperation with the LUCERNE FESTIVAL, audite presents outstanding concert recordings of noted festival artists. The aim of this edition is to make available treasures, most of them previously unavailable, from the first six decades of the Festival, which began in 1938 with a "Concert de Gala" led by Arturo Toscanini. The sound documents are taken from the archives of SRF Swiss Radio and Television, which has regularly broadcast the Lucerne concerts from the very beginning. They have been acoustically restored with great care and supplemented by materials and photos from the LUCERNE FESTIVAL: a sounding history of the festival.
