Apr 25, 2023 | Wencke Wallbaum | News ICMA Award Ceremony & Gala Concert

On 21 April, this year's ICMAs were awarded in the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw (Poland) and numerous prize winners were presented in a top-class and extensive gala concert with the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic under the direction of Giancarlo Guerrero.

audite was again honoured with an International Classical Music Award (ICMA): The jury's choice in the "Historical Recording" category fell on the production Rafael Kubelík conducts Haydn, Schoenberg & Tchaikovsky.
Like last year, the gala concert could be followed live in parallel on the radio as well as via live stream on the YouTube channel of Deutsche Welle.

Apr 5, 2023 | Wencke Wallbaum | News Two audite productions on new longlist of German Record Critics' award (PdSK)

156 jurors from 32 specialist juries have chosen a total of 246 titles (CDs, DVDs and audiobooks) from the new releases of the last quarter and nominated them for the Quarterly Critics' Choice ("Bestenliste") 2/2023 of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK), which will be published on 15 May.

Among them are two current audite releases: In the category "Chamber Music II" the production "Myths and Melodies" with Stefan Hempel & Daniel Seroussi was selected and in the categories "Opera II" and "Contemporary Music" our world premiere recording of Dessau's opera "Lanzelot" was nominated twice.

We are very pleased about this appreciation!

Of our six nominated productions, both historical releases from the LUCERNE FESTIVAL series have made it to the finals of the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) 2023. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed for the recordings Rafael Kubelík conducts Haydn, Schoenberg & Tchaikovsky and Géza Anda and Clara Haskil play Bach: Concerto for 2 Pianos, BWV 1061 and Bartók: Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3 for the announcement of the winners on 18 January 2023!!!!

​A total of 6 audite productions have been nominated for the International Classical Music Awards 2023, including two new productions with Marc Coppey as well as recordings with the Mandelring Quartet and Sarah O'Brien. Among the historical releases, two productions from the LUCERNE FESTIVAL series (Rafael Kubelík / Géza Anda) have been nominated.

153 jurors from 32 specialist juries have chosen 223 productions (CDs, DVDs and audiobooks) from new releases of the last quarter and nominated them for the Quarterly Critics' Choice ("Bestenliste") 4/2022 of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK), which will be issued on November 15th.

Among these are also two current audite productions: in the category "Keyboard Instruments II" the production "Liszt - The Friend and Paragon" by organist Anna-Victoria Baltrusch was nominated, and in the category "Historical Recordings" the latest release of the LUCERNE FESTIVAL series "Rafael Kubelík conducts Haydn, Schoenberg & Tchaikovsky".

On 21 April, this year's ICMAs were awarded in Luxembourg and numerous prize winners were presented in a top-class and the most extensive gala concert ever with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg (OPL) under the predominant direction of Adam Fischer.

audite was again honoured with an International Classical Music Award (ICMA): The jury's choice in the "Early Music" category fell on the production Basevi Codex - Music at the Court of Margaret of Austria with Dorothee Mields (soprano) and the Boreas Quartett Bremen (recorder consort). The Boreas Quartet, which travelled to the festival without Dorothee Mields, performed alone both at the preceding award ceremony and at the evening gala concert, shining with Thomas Tallis' "In Nomine" and the highly virtuosic "Flashing Flutes" from Piet Swerts' "Three Gadgets".
In addition to the almost 1000 spectators in the Philharmonie's Grand Auditorium, the gala concert could also be followed live by countless people via live stream and on Luxembourg and Romanian radio as well as Deutsche Welle.
